Job Description

• Document and execute hardware and software configuration management processes, policies, and procedures. Includes COTS/FOSS Configuration Management • Ensure configuration items and associated data are correctly identified, and baselines are accurate • Ensure changes are managed from creation through to implementation, including conduct of effective Configuration Control Board meetings • Ensure configuration status accounts are complete and accurate, with reports generated as required to support project activities • Ensure configuration audits are conducted and are used to verify accuracy of configuration records • Provide CM process training to program team • Communicate CM status to Functional and Program Management

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 6 years’ experience with configuration management or transferable skills • Experience applying policy and processes to execute configuration management of documents and technical baselines • Familiarity with software license management • Ability to coordinate changes using defined change management practices while maintaining configuration control • Thorough attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision • Excellent analysis skills: Ability to evaluate the current environment, gather needs, and propose a recommended CM solution • Experience with configuration management audit execution • Practical experience associated with defined Configuration Management processes based on common functional best practices (EIA-649, MIL-HDBK-61, ISO, ITIL and CMMI) • Ability to work collaboratively across engineering disciplines, production and product sustainment teams, as well as external suppliers
