Job Description

Compensation:
$50/hr to $60/hr. - Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Day to Day:
Insight Global is seeking talented and motivated professionals to join a large technology client as Critical Environment Technicians and Lead Critical Environment Technicians. This person will perform basic monitoring of the performance of maintenance and operations of equipment (e.g., electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety) within the data center. They will safely assist in providing emergency monitoring and response to various abnormal conditions with supervision, utilizing emergency operating procedures (EOPs). Their day-to-day will consist of working on tasks (e.g., making rounds, initial assessments on equipment performance) as assigned with limited supervision. Leads will be responsible for managing a team of 8 CETs and overseeing execution and safety of day-to-day tasks.

Responsibilities include:
Take daily operational readings of all electrical equipment through routine rounds/log taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
Ability to follow operating procedures (SOPs) for critical environment planned work activities
Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work and comply with all physical security procedures and policies
Assist in the troubleshooting, repair and replacement of instrument sensors and calibration.
Support electrical infrastructures throughout datacenter campus ranging from a single, large-capacity facility to several smaller one
Labeling/Energizing Network and GPU racks
Filling RDHX (Rear Door Heat Exchangers) with glycol solution
Filling GPU racks with glycol solution

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Advanced electrical knowledge
Advanced mechanical knowledge
3+ years of critical environment experience, with at least 1 of those within a data center environment specifically
Training/Knowledge of:
o Heat stress symptoms & prevention
o Ladder safety
o Electrical safety - general awareness
o Working at elevated heights/fall protection & prevention
o Hearing conservation
o Personal protective equipment (PPE)
o Back injury prevention
o Warehouse & loading dock safety
o Mobile elevate work platforms (MEWPs)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with electrical systems in a high availability assembly / manufacturing / critical infrastructure environment such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields.
OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E Certification or be willing to obtain within 2 weeks.
Have a Fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code
Experience with Power Interruption Testing (PIT)
Experience with Remote Power Panel (RPP) shutdown of 1 source. Critical Load is still supplied through one source (N).
Experience with PDU shutdown for power meter replacement.
Experience with building management systems (EPMS)
Experience with System control panel preventative maintenance
Experience with Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) preventative maintenance
