Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Product Owner to lead the loading on non-asset electric data of Esri’s Enterprise GIS platform with IT systems, in a cloud-based environment. This individual will be the bridge between stakeholders, GIS teams, IT, and business units, ensuring successful delivery of integrated geospatial solutions that support utility operations and digital transformation initiatives. In addition, this individual will be responsible for ensuring data quality throughout every step of the data transformation and loading into GIS, so need someone who has a deep understanding of data quality & can come up with a plan to ensure quality for data.

Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders, GIS teams, and IT to define and prioritize product features and integration requirements.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and GIS best practices.
• Manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring features and enhancements align with user needs and enterprise goals.
• Guide the development and implementation of Esri Utility Network in alignment with business processes and IT system integrations. ( wish list)
• Collaborate with cloud architects to support GIS deployment in hybrid or cloud-native environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Ensure seamless data interoperability between GIS and business systems for asset management, work orders, customer service, and outage management.
• Participate in system architecture and solution design discussions.
• Evaluate and communicate product performance and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
• Lead Agile ceremonies and serve as a key member of the Scrum team.
• Define quality standards and metrics and work closely with the Quality Management team.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in the GIS or utility sector
• Program management experience, dealing with projects in different phases
• Strong working knowledge of Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, including Utility Network, Portal, and related geoprocessing tools.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience in utility operations and systems, ideally electric (gas, or water also helpful)
• Certification in Product Ownership (CSPO, SAFe PO/PM) or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of REST APIs, web services, and system integration approaches.
• Solid understanding of cloud architecture and deployment strategies (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
