Job Description

A construction materials, geotechnical, and environmental engineering client in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area is seeking to add two CMT Technicians to their growing team. As a Construction Materials Field Professional, you'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding our client's major investments, collaborating with industry peers to tackle construction challenges head-on. Your responsibilities encompass conducting vital materials testing, on-site observations, and inspection services across diverse projects. From transportation projects like roadways and bridges to renewable energy initiatives such as wind and solar farms, and even healthcare and educational infrastructure, your work will leave a lasting impact. Leveraging cutting-edge technology, you'll deliver documentation of findings to clients and partners, facilitating prompt problem-solving and cost savings. Your duties may range from field and lab testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt to inspecting foundations, steel structures, and masonry, all aimed at enhancing durability, safety, and compliance with project specifications.

Responsibilities include:
- Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel)
- Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor's representative and others as applicable regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results.
- Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
- Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the PM.
- Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas.
- May assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites. Adhere to strict safety standards.

Required Skills & Experience

- 6+ months of experience with construction materials testing
- Comfortable working full time and 50-55 hours a week during busy season
- Valid drivers license
- ACI certification in one or more of the following areas is highly preferred:
Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I
Concrete Strength Testing Technician

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- ICC Certifications
- NICET Level II certifications
- AWS OR CAWI certifications
- 10+ years of construction materials testing experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Technical Associate's Degree in related discipline
