Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and confident Master Scheduler to take full ownership of production scheduling across a complex CNC machining environment.
This individual will operate as the central point of control for prioritization, backlog management, and real-time production adjustments, ensuring on-time delivery across a high mix, low volume manufacturing operation.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role requiring strong decision-making, accountability, and the ability to continuously improve scheduling outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage the master production schedule in a fast-paced CNC machining environment
Prioritize and sequence work based on customer POs, production capacity, and deadlines
Utilize JobBoss ERP system (or similar ERP/MRP tools) to manage scheduling and workflow
Monitor daily production performance and adjust schedules in real time to address deviations
Analyze gaps between planned vs. actual production output and drive corrective actions
Collaborate closely with machinists, production leads, and operations teams to ensure execution
Manage and optimize backlog, throughput, and resource allocation
Identify inefficiencies and continuously improve scheduling processes and accuracy
Clearly communicate shifting priorities and ensure alignment across the production floor

Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of experience in production scheduling within fast-paced manufacturing environments
Recent experience as a Master Scheduler
Direct experience in a contract manufacturing (CMO) or CNC machining shop environment
Experience supporting high mix, low volume production environments
Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems (JobBoss highly preferred; SAP, Oracle, or similar acceptable)
Proven ability to prioritize multiple customer orders and manage complex schedules simultaneously
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess performance gaps and improve scheduling accuracy
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience in aerospace manufacturing environments (medical device also acceptable)
Background working directly with machine shop floor operations
Experience managing real-time production scheduling adjustments and performance tracking
