Insight Global is seeking an IBM Technician for one of our large manufacturing clients in Waller, Tx. The IBM Technician is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring, maintenance, and administration of the IBMi operating system. This includes tasks such as managing user profiles, security configurations, system backups, performance monitoring, and system upgrades. The IBM Analyst will also troubleshoot issues within the IBMi application and develop solutions. Additionally, the IBM Analyst will write documentation and communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of IBMi operating system features and capabilities.
Understanding of IBM system libraries, object management, security, backup and recovery, job scheduling, and performance monitoring.
Ability to debug and troubleshoot IBMi applications and system issues.
Experience with IBM Debug Tool, IBM Rational Developer for i, and IBMi Services.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience developing applications on the IBMi platform using programming languages like RPG, CL, or SQL.
