Job Description

One of our water and process management clients is looking for a Controls Engineer to join their team at their manufacturing site in Ellwood City, PA. This plant specifically works with specialty chemicals and water-based products (water filtration, water clarification). This individual will be supporting two plants in Ellwood City that are driving distance from each other but will be the sole Controls Engineer for both sites, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. Job duties include but are not limited to:

- Oversee and maintain all plant process control networks, including the architecture, PLC logic programming, and HMI operator interface for production.

- Provide engineering/technical support to manufacturing and maintenance operations in the troubleshooting, rebuilding and repair of electrical equipment and automated systems.

- Streamline and maintain cybersecurity of internal process control networks with Corporate IT.

- Identify and implement new control instrumentation and equipment.

- Lead and facilitate automation projects for continuous improvement of manufacturing operations through the design, selection, and installation of new equipment/systems as well as improvement of existing systems.

- Create and maintain documentation of controls equipment and systems.

Facilitate implementation of process visualization software and integration with current control systems

- Implement HMI/PLC upgrades as needed.

- Interface and troubleshoot various PLC instrumentation with new and legacy control systems.

- Familiar with multiple Control Systems' hardware & software (i.e. Rockwell, Siemens, Wonderware, etc.)

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field

- Industrial process control experience including PLC, DCS and HMI programming

- 5 years of experience in complex manufacturing environment

- Strong communicator and collaborator with experience working across multiple functions

- Experienced with legacy control systems migration

- Successfully managed multifunctional project teams

- Expertise with multiple PLC programming languages & HMI interfaces including Allen Bradley, WonderWear, or similar

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Familiarity and expertise with TPM a plus
