Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a controller to work on site for a client in Dayton, Ohio. The controller will be responsible for providing the overall direction and guidance of the Accounting Department. They will lead the financial staff and Information Services and will be accountable for responsibilities including general accounting, payables, receivables, cost accounting, business analysis, financial reporting, and budgeting/forecasting. The controller will also be responsible for addressing responsibilities in the best interest of the organization from a short-term and long-term perspective.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provides general supervision and leadership to the Accounting and operations;
Maintains an efficient, auditable GAAP accounting system while producing accurate & timely monthly, quarterly & year-end financial information;
Communicates significant variance analysis, controls risks, and/or financial trends with top management, along with providing recommendations as appropriate.
Directs the development and maintenance of the organization's information systems infrastructure to meet the needs of the organization;
Keeps current on trends within the financial, proposes updates/changes that will allow the organization to maintain a competitive edge;
Ensures confidentiality;
Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff;
Develops and implements best-in-class internal control methods, utilizing the COSO Framework as a guide;
Interfaces regularly with other departments on any applicable activities or information requests;
Coordinates and maintains sound external relationships with banking, financial forecasting/planning, tax reporting, and accountant/auditor agencies and interests;
Contacts and utilizes professional services (insurance, attorneys, etc.) as required;
Performs and manages inventory cycle counts and annual inventory activities;
Takes an active part in the development and maintenance of company culture;
Actively participates as a member of the company Executive team managing, establishing, and driving the long- and short-term strategic direction of the company;
Produce KPIs, weekly/monthly/quarterly
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent; or (5) five years related experience and/or training;
Proven experience in a leadership capacity.
Strong understanding of Manufacturing Accounting
Incumbents must be able to successfully navigate Microsoft Suite software applications, accounting software applications, and manufacturing ERP systems.
Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and organizational skills are essential.
The individual will be expected to be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting and finance field, including cost accounting.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Preferred equivalent combination of education and experience.
UX PLEX ERP system experience a plus
Experience with managing MIS/IT Department a plus.
