Job Description
A large financial organization is seeking a Product Owner that will sit onsite in Cincinnati Ohio. This Product Owner will need to have expertise in core banking systems such as deposits, loan and credit processing, withdrawals, money movement, transactions, and general ledger so they can act as an expert to help resolve issues cross functionally and advise the business on best solutions. Additionally, they must be comfortable in a fast paced, agile environment and ensure that all projects deliver the desirable outcomes. They will identify techniques to improve information processing systems as the organization modernizes these core platforms from Mainframe to modern Open Systems technologies. The Product Owner will be responsible for coordinating with all groups involved in this transformation and work heavily with internal business applications and stakeholders. They will inspire and motivate the development teams to deliver innovative and exciting API solutions with an appropriate sense of urgency.
Additional responsibilities:
Documenting current and future state API systems
Work with key stakeholders across the team to ensure successful product releases
Inspire and motivate the development teams to deliver innovative and exciting API solutions with an appropriate sense of urgency
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define business requirements and associated epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation
Be a strategic thinker who can balance big picture strategy with detailed, flawless execution
Effectively communicate, take ownership and drive product development
Simplify complex problems, tackling interesting and meaningful challenges
Required Skills & Experience
4+ years of experience in a Product Owner or Business Analyst role
In-depth knowledge (5+ years) of Core Banking activities (deposits, loan and credit processing, withdrawals, money movement, transactions, and general ledger)
Knowledge and proven experience writing story Acceptance Criteria
Experience participating in agile ceremonies
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience in documenting current and future state API systems
Strong influencing and partnership / collaboration skills to drive cross-functional teams
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication; relationship management; innovation and creativity skills
