A client of Insight Global is looking for a Transportation Logistics Supervisor to join a growing organization in the renewable energy industry in Chapel Hill, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring all shipments and ensuring on-time deliveries to customer projects. Your key responsibilities will include monitoring incoming and outgoing shipments, creating, and updating weekly customer delivery schedules, partnering with engineering teams, problem solving, producing new process improvements, and preparing shipping documents such as commercial invoices, packing slips, and shipping labels. Along with deciding on a plan B when faced with weather or freight issues to coordinate the shipments on time arrival date. Typically, each member of the team will be responsible for 40-50 orders and these orders are coming from the manufacturing site overseas. You will also coordinate the pick-up of containers at destination ports or rail stations and arrange small shipments through service provider websites. Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial as you update our company software to track delivery dates and book incoming and outgoing goods. Additionally, you will collaborate with customers to coordinate shipments and provide any necessary operational support. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively with various partners and peers. Additional responsibilities below:
* Monitor all incoming and outgoing shipments

* Coordinates pick up of all containers at the destination port/rail station to deliver to customer project sites
* Request pricing from domestic freight forwarders for price comparison and assigns projects to them
* Create and ship small shipments via service provide website
* Updates company software to ensure accurate delivery dates are being tracked
* Books incoming and outgoing goods in company software
* Create and maintain reports and presentations
* Coordinate shipments with customers and provide other operational support to clients as needed
* Assist with any day-to-day administrative tasks
* Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
* 3-5 years' experience in a logistics lead/supervisor role within transportation
* 5+ years' experience in logistics coordination
* Customs regulation knowledge
* Both domestic and international exposure
* Experience tracking various shipments
* Strong Microsoft Excel and forecasting skills
* Able to work onsite 5 days a week
