Insight Global is seeking an Angular Developer to join one of our Industrial Supplier clients based out of Belmont, NC. This position is 100% remote and must work off of east coast time zone. The position is set for a 6-month contract with possible permanent placement and/or contract extension.
This person will join a team of 3 other developers and one manager to complete a website overhaul project. This team will work to complete a "lift and shift" migration to redesign and build out new, modern Angular code to replace the legacy AngularJS. 90% of the role will be front end and 10% using backend technologies. In addition to rewriting code, the team is also tasked with combining their US-based website with their Canada-based website. With this, there will be additional considerations for user authorization and SEO best practices.
We are looking for someone who can help develop high-quality software products with a heavy emphasis on modern Angular along with JavaScript, Bootstrap, RESTful API's, HTML/CSS, and responsive Web design. They will create web software solutions working closely with the web applications team. They will be the main point of contact for modern angular development and working closely with two other frontend developers. A solid understanding of Angular and troubleshooting is necessary to coach the rest of team. Any additional experience with UI/UX design, PHP/Symfony, SQL, MySQL, and MongoDB would be a huge plus.
* 5+ years of experience in IT Development, strong background with JavaScript/TypeScript
* 3+ years of Angular Development experience
* 3+ years of experience writing/creating RESTful API's and understanding of asynchronous calls/display as well as working with modules and components and reactive vs template-driven forms
* Experience with Bootstrap, HTML/CSS and responsive web design
* Comfortable working and explaining modern Angular to others
* Strong experience working primarily on the frontend
* Have previous work experience writing an application from scratch that is responsive and has an intuitive UI, using well-organized code
* Ability to adhere to a "test-as-you-go" mentality, utilizing good habits for testing and checking for errors before submitting work to be reviewed by others.
* Previous experience working with SEO best practices when it comes to Angular and have proven methods to overcome challenges to make Angular SEO-friendly
* Strong understanding of Observables and how they communicate with different parts of a single-page application
* Overall attention to detail and ability to work effectively under project deadlines
