Profile
This position provides Workday payroll and HR expertise and functional knowledge to support internal product development and support needs.
Responsibilities
* Perform duties under general direction of the department manager
* Assist in analysis, design, configuration and estimation tasks
* Configure and maintain Workday HR/Payroll systems to meet business requirements, including organizational structure scenarios such as Common Paymaster and Single Legal Entity
* Develop and document test cases
* Conduct system and integration tests
* Author functional specification documents
* Mentor other team members on Workday HR/Payroll
* Complete assigned tasks proactively and with minimal direction
* Act as the SME in Workday within the organization
* Configuration -- Setting up payroll scenarios
o Creating a company, accounts, employees, etc.
o Variation of set ups (PEO, Pay Master, etc.)
* When Workday makes changes and/or implements new features, our client needs to make adjustments on their end.
o The Workday Consultant will be responsible for determining how to the company will adapt to said changes and identify potential issues
* Integrations (Web services and API's)
o Familiar with integration points
o Understands how to get specific information from an API (such as employee info)
* Training internal employees
o Helping teams understand Workday
o Consult other teams and provide input on Workday related topics
* Understand the data models around payroll
o Extra data to a third-party
o Process payroll
Able to understand and pinpoint bugs when payroll is in production in Workday
* Experience setting up, testing, and processing payroll in Workday
Required Skills & Experience
Qualified candidates must live in one of the following states: Georgia, Florida, Texas, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Ohio, Nevada, or Illinois.
* Workday Certified
* Minimum 5 years of experience as Workday Functional Consultant
* Strong experience in Workday onboarding and transfer processes related to HCM and payroll
* BS in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent preferred
* In-depth knowledge of benefits, garnishments/wage attachments, earnings, deductions, W-2, 1099 and associated configuration options
* In-depth knowledge of integration points between HR/Payroll and 3rd party interfaces
* Knowledge of business models and entities related to HR, payroll deductions and wages.
* Experience with recent versions of Workday tenants, tools, reports and data access practices
* Strong critical thinking, problem solving, negotiation and facilitation skills
* Experience with SQL is a plus
