Job Description
The Java Developer will design and develop sustainable integrations of technical metadata from enterprise applications, databases, and other technologies to support and maintain Schwab's Data Governance Program. They will support this regulatory program by creating and developing efficient and repeatable technical processes.
They will be designing and developing Java applications. This includes complex back-end services to more user interfacing counterparts. We require an in-depth knowledge of REST APIs and continuous integrations. We expect work to be completed in a secure, robust, efficient manner. We require a commitment to collaborative design and problem-solving.
The Data Governance Developer will report to the Senior Manager for Data Management Development and Operations within Schwab's Data Management Technology (DMT) group in Data and Rep Technology.
* Design and develop automated, scheduled, and sustainable processes to meet Schwab's enterprise standards
* Execute ingestion from enterprise applications, databases, and other technologies
* Monitor, validate, and oversee integrations
* Develop, support, and maintain Workflows
* Leverage Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog and Collibra API as needed to meet Schwab's needs
* Interact with the Data Management Development team to understand requirements, document integrations and processes, participate in meetings and working sessions
* Design, develop, unit test, and support of metadata import and export jobs and creation of data governance reporting/KPI
* Support implementation of upgrades and future developments of data governance tool suites
* Responsible for adherence to SDLC policies and standards for technical management of the Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog for Schwab
* Participation with Data Governance Office and STS technical leadership to continuously improve data governance technologies
* Drive continuous improvement and development of best practices for the DMT organization
* Maintain a solid understanding of Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog and Collibra capabilities and the product's roadmap to ensure effective technical design of solutions in the platform
Required Skills & Experience
* 5+ years of web application development experience
* Proficient development experience with Java Spring Boot applications
* Experience with Collibra Data Governance Center, Informatica Data Quality, and/or Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC)
* Experience in REST Webservices and API tools
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
* 2+ years of data governance or related experience
* Experience with Big Data Environments
* Experience with client-side languages such as JavaScript, HTML, AJAX, CSS
* Experience in the financial services industry
* Experience with Workflow / BPMN Development
