Job Description

A customer of Insight Global is seeking a Director of Accounting. The Director of Accounting oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. They supervise accounting staff, manage audits, and lead initiatives related to real estate finance, including Section 1031 exchanges. This role involves close coordination with investment teams, charitable foundations, and potentially family office operations. The Director is responsible for implementing and maintaining systems like Yardi and QuickBooks, while also driving process improvements and cross-functional projects. They provide strategic insights to senior leadership and play a key role in mentoring and developing the accounting team. Full-time, in-office presence is required to support collaboration and operational efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

- 10+ years in Accounting

· Strong tax planning experience. (this person will assist in taxes for 25 separate LLCs)

· Demonstrated leadership and development skills. This role will oversee 3 full-time staff.

· Bachelors or Masters degree (Preferred) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

· Commercial real estate (retail) experience preferred

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in California (preferred).

· Proficiency in Yardi Breeze Premier &/or Yardi and QuickBooks.
